Chelsea Milam | Associate

Chelsea Milam joined Hamilton Shores in January 2026. Prior to joining the firm, she represented clients in both complex transactional and litigation matters spanning several industries, gaining particular experience in oil and gas, real estate, and probate and estate matters. Ms. Milam’s oil and gas practice includes providing comprehensive legal counsel on a wide range of industry matters, preparing original drilling and division order title opinions, analyzing leases and pooling/unitization agreements, drafting curative documents, and preparing instruments for real estate transactions. Ms. Milam also guides clients through all stages of disputes – from pre-suit negotiation all the way through trial, in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration proceedings.

Representative Litigation Matters:

Ms. Milam has successfully represented a wide range of clients through the litigation process, including:

  • Obtained a $17 million verdict for an estate and trust beneficiary in a suit against the executor and trustees involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty and common law fraud related to the improper transfer of mineral interests.
  • Obtained a verdict establishing client’s ownership of real property against party claiming ownership under a forged deed.
  • Obtained a temporary injunction in favor of an oil and gas operator in a dispute regarding access to the surface of property on which it held a lease.
  • Successfully defended an employer in a suit involving claims of sexual harassment brought to trial by the EEOC on behalf of seven claimants in the Eastern District of Texas
